I got Hunters in th M&M sale last year, think I paid around £30 for them (just after Christmas) and they were delivered on a saturday morning in the snow when all London Transport had shut down and all postal services had stopped.....(sorry! I was just so amazed and happy with M&M delivering intime and in such bizarre weather when my road hadn't even been salted due to government cuts!)
I found mine baggy around the ankles but would imagine they are all like this. Firstly as they have no stretch in them and no laces around the ankle (or all the snow would leak through!) so your relying on the boot to be wide enough all the way down to allow your foot in, your foot is wider then your ankle the space around the ankle will thus need to be wider then normal.
Add to that she shape. Honestly, does anyone have legs that shape?
I had to wear several pairs of socks with mine so was grateful to the extra space. I had been so used to wearing sheepskin lined boots that when it came to just plastic my feet froze! I am dreading the snow this year as a result and wish sheepskin was actually water proof and not just resistant with a spray. (And before anyone suggests, Emus don't fit me, tried in vain many times)

Another vote here for Muckboots.
I used to go through 2 pairs of welly's a year walking the dog because they always seem to split on me.
I ve had my Muckboots 2yrs now and although there is a little split in the rubber on the top of the foot it doesnt matter because the neoprene underneath keeps water out.
They are so comfortable and warm too. Im a size 5 1/2 so bought a size 6 thinking I would need room for thick socks. Next time I will get a 5 as they are so warm you dont need them.
Infact thats the only problem with them - they are too warm to wear on a rainy day in summer !0 -
Below are the ones I have and thats where I got them from as well not online though, I went to the saddlery, dd wears a size 5 and they were on the big side for her so I had them and I'm a 6, I wear them with one pair of thick socks, I do much the same as pennylane in mine, I even wear them with shorts in the summer, be prepared for people to ask wheres your horse when you wear them;)

I have Derwent Muck Boots, really warm. comfy and have good grip, but not the most atractive to wear if its for wearing to work when it rains! lol:rotfl:Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time0 -
Suki - ours are all Derwent - 3 pairs in black and mine are olive green. Lots of shops/saddleries sell them so you don't have to buy online. They do brown as well I believe and I'm sure sort of pink/lilac check ones (but they may be a different model). Still Muck boots though.
The shop where I bought mine says the sizing is very good - so if you're, say, a 5, then buy a 5. They are so warm that I have never had to wear more than a thin cotton sock with mine - truly!
Another important feature is the actual leg part which you can roll down to get them on and off easily if you prefer.0 -

Another vote for muckboots. the hunters I ordered I sent back as they were a weird shape and didn't sit well.
I bought 2 pairs of muckboots last year, one pair was the children's muddies ones and they weren't as cheap as the ones in this link but they are amazing in the snow (but crap on ice) http://www.goytmill.com/detail.jsp?pid=55285&id=55319&src=froogle They do look at bit like diver boots (and come in pink too) but are fab. I only threw them out this week as the rubber on the top cracked even though they weren't letting in water but I have another pair of plain green ones. They are so comfy too and so much cheaper than the adult sizes. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0
