Yes mine are baggy around the ankle and quite big on the calf, I think its because they are slightly big on me so not sure if its normal, dd has some too and they dont look the same as mine but they are a different style, they also make a slight rubbing sound when I walk although they dont rub anywhere but they are super comfy:)

  • Yes, mine are a bit baggy around the ankle too but the size smaller were too tight so I am wearing the right size. What I do is wear welly socks with them to make them a better fit and to keep your legs and feet warmer. You can buy Hunter wellysocks but they´re expensive. I bought some normal fleecy welly socks from the market for just a few pounds and they´re fine.
  • mine are too - i think its so you can fit 'welly socks' into them to prevent chilly feet?!
i also find them really long and i don't think i'm that short!
still the best wellies ive ever had (my second pair of hunters) and i wouldnt go back to cheapy ones

I have Hunters (red ones which must be 10 years old now) but I very seldom wear them because I have discovered Muckboots which are much, much better.

They fit really well, they are SO warm (Hunters are OK just in rain but not warm at all). I had the Hunters fleecy socks too but they just make them very bulky and you really do need to buy your boots a size larger if you plan to use these liners.

I also used thermal insoles in my Hunters and they still are not as warm as MuckBoots.

Muckboots are also so comfortable and hardwearing and there's not much difference in price. In fact I believe MBs are a bit cheaper.
  • I have Huntress boots, they are the ladies version of Hunters and are designed specifically for ladies as we have different shaped legs to men. I find they fit me perfectly and are super comfy as mentioned above, I can walk miles and miles in them. I agree though that in winter they can get cold, and they have very limited grip in snow/icy conditions.

Best of all, I got them for £25 in TKMaxx!!!

I'd take them back without a doubt.

This happens to me all the time, no matter what I buy. I can get through 3 pairs a year so now I my the wellies that are stiffer - you know like workmans ones. Batter the tops of my shins but at least Ive not yet split a pair

I second this, I have Muckers handed down to me from dd and they are superior to my Hunters:)

Our garage looks like a Muckboot factory - they're everywhere! We've all got a pair now. They're worn every single day for horsey work (morning and night), dog walking (when fields are wet) sometimes gardening and they just keep on going.

My hubby used to buy about 3 pairs of expensive wellies every year and they'd either split or he'd get a hole in them. His Muckboots are now about 4 years old.
