Dangerous Addiction to Fancy Dress

Eeeep! It's happening again - I can't resist - I'm going to spend money
I have a serious problem with fancy dress competitions. I've never lost one. Ever. Not since I was a little girl at school.
I get very carried away... I always look for an original idea, buy the bits and pieces I need and put it together myself (there's generally a lot of building and craft work involved).
But by the time I buy all the materials to make it look *good* it costs more than a rental!
I actually got banned from entering the fancy dress competitions at my last office, because I'd make supreme efforts to trump myself every time, and no-one else at work had a chance.
But now I've started a new job and they're offering all these super prizes. They've even got us competing with the foreign offices.
So I've done it again! I've got a costume in my head, very little time left to work on it and the shopping list is growing. Already I need to buy:
- Expansive amounts of cardboard
- Silver spray
- Wood-effect vinyl
- Mirrored perspex
- Wood dowling
- Magnetic strips
- Elastic
- 'Eyes' (as in curtain making, hooks and eyes)
- Large flowers
- Victorian-style clothing (I have a favourite vintage dress shop to check for this)
- Silver-coloured vinyl fabric
Fortunately I already have:
- Facepaints / makeup
- Wig
- Petticoats / skirts
- Lace gloves
- Jewellery
In my head, the shopping list is justified because it's just 'finishing touches' to the stuff I already have. And winning the prize justifies it too.
I'm obsessed! HELP!
