Have you tried speaking to your council about housing benefit and council tax benefit while you are only receiving SSP as your income has dropped?

In terms of benefits while working, have you filled out the benefits calculators on direct.gov and turn2us? They should give you a rough idea of what you may be able to claim.

I have spoke to my council and they said without a payslip showing i'm getting ssp i can't claim but i work 10 miles away and have to get the bus which isn't possible at the minute and my manager won't send it in the post.
I have tried the benefits calculator and i'm not entitled to anything because i earn too much (£850 a month working in a care home) and i'm too young for working tax.0 -
If you get the claim lodged now then you have 28 days to provide the information and the claim will be started from the date it was lodged rather than waiting to a date when you can get a payslip before submitting the claim.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
