Having been lucky enough to get my hands on one of these bad boys when it was around £90.00 since then I have pretty much left it alone, watched a few films on it etc, But its badly let down by the lack of decent apps. I am still waiting to see if anyone has successfully installed android on it?
Has anyone here?

If you type "Hp Touch install android" into your favourite search engine you'll get lots of hits for walk-throughs and tutorials.
Looking at a few suggests that it's neither easy nor very rewarding, but perhaps I just sampled the wrong ones...0 -

The CyanogenMod team have an alpha build out so it's getting there (dual-boot)... There is also an alpha out by other people of an emulator (chroid) to run Android Apps as cards within WebOS. I'm waiting until stuff is several builds into beta before trying - alpha can bring a few heart-stopping moments

i wouldnt bother with andriod, WebOS is better anyways! besides as soon as HP sell off WEBos, which will be very soon as they have bidders already, WebOS will take off. all this installing dual boot stuff is impatience, mark my words once webos is sold youll see apps coming.0 -
See, I like WebOS generally, especially with an overclocked TouchPad, it's quite snappy - however the browser is poor and I'd love to run Opera on it instead - I'm likely to go with the emulator when it's nice and stable but I'll probably give the CM rom a go at some point because their builds are just in a different league. The good news is that WebOS is due a official update (hopefully) soon and from the people who've tried the leaked build, it's rather nice and the browser is better, but obviously the lack of apps is for now an issue. Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0

I was going to install ubuntu and chroot and use chrome, just to see how it goes, the latest update was disapointing for me.0

Yeah there is always that option. I'm patiently waiting for updated goodies from preware after installing the latest WebOS and then I'll see what I do. Modified a few bits that HP should have done but seemingly couldn't be bothered with so at least now my default "just type" search engine is google.co.uk instead of .com and I've added and renamed tabs in the launcher so that it now makes more sense
