    From the T&Cs:

This time is calculated taking into consideration all codes entered, less any penalties for incorrect code submissions, less the difference between either the point the competition started, or the time at which the entrant registered, whichever is later.

? I'm being really dense, less the difference from what? My brain is pretty zonked from thinking where codes could be, so please can someone put it in simple terms for me? :D I'm guessing that means if you started as soon as it opened, you're going to have a lot of time taken off in the final judging process? :(

I keep looking at that too. It's so confusing!!!

  • Seems a little strange to me, but I think that is what they mean. Bearing in mind some codes lost time, I would have thought that they would not need to make any adjustments. I just want them to tell me where all the codes were, when they were available and their value. I never had a chance of winning them but I do love a good treasure hunt. I think the current leader is a computer buff of sorts (which I definitely am not and twitter etc also pass me by) as well as living in London, which speaks for itself providng he was willing to put in the time. I wonder if the final code will be a huge number of days to give everyone a chance - the 100 years as gifted in the film!
    ;)

I think it just means the time that is always ticking down... so if you've been in the competition a week, the time calculated is all the time from the codes, minus any penalties, then minus the 7 days you've been in the competition (if that makes sense...)

But as the time is always ticking down, there won't be any extra time taken off at the end.

    ...I think :/

Edit: reading it back, I'm not sure now actually! It's worded very strangely

  • Under a cloud? What does that mean?
Thank you, to all those who make the comps forum, what it is.

I wish I hadn't gone to bed after the last code and stayed up to see what all the uproar is about! I finished 9th though in the end which was nice :)
  • Well done you!! I was in the fifties and thought that was good - never expected to win, but loved the game! I still want to know where, when and what the values of the codes were. If it was London centred and I had no way of getting those codes, then there was never a chance and that would be useful information for the future, bearing in mind how time consuming this was.

The winner was a Ronan Carr

It appears that a complaint was received that this person received codes before others and the competition promoter says this is not true - I believe that there was some talk of him getting codes due to his job as a search engine optimiser - I have no idea what that job is or why it was thought he gained codes before others did, or whether there was an evidence of this, some individuals wanted to know how and where he gained the codes perhaps for future reference? I didn't enter the competition but have just read some of the comments made by others and the winner on facebook to see what it was all about.
