Boycott British Gas

The constant theme on this website and other consumer groups is to switch, switch, switch. Any sane person knows that the big 6 suppliers are operating a cartel & so while there are short term gains to be had by switching suppliers sooner or later they'll all have the same profiteering price rises as surely as night follows day. The only effective way to combat the energy companies is by choosing one and urging everyone you know to boycott them. It doesn't matter which one it is the loss of thousands or even millions of customers will force these firms to reconsider their pricing policies. The big companies in the UK market rely purely on the legendary apathy of the British public to get away with gross profiteering. As they say don't get mad get even.

Really spite them and generate your own. After all there are many people who live without a utility provider.

think the op got told off for not paying his bill to them
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • Exactly the point I'm making, why boycott one firm? Why do anything? Let's just sit back while the energy companies rip us off and so long as we don't actually do anything to affect their profits they're happy. It doesn't matter which company is picked out for a boycott. Same applies to fuel prices - if Shell or Sainsbury's or any of the big garages didn't sell a litre of fuel for a couple of weeks do you think they might be inclined to cut their prices. Or is it better to just carry on complaining but don't actually do anything.
