Is this Feedback Extortion?

Afternoon All
I have a wee query that hopefully someone can help me with.
I've been messaging a seller I bought an item of off with a query and he has ignored all 3 emails. I know he's been on Ebay the last few days as he's been leaving personalised feedback for people, and I think that he's avoiding answering my messages as he could well have missold the item in question.
I'm going to send him one last email and say if you don't respond by xxx then I will leave negative feedback. I wouldn't leave negative feedback purely for bad communication but I do want to point out to the seller that he's being out of order and shouldn't ignore his buyers. My questions is, would this constitute feedback extortion?
Thanks for reading

It isn't worth the risk and it isn't the right way to do things anyway.
Have you paid? If so just put in a full chargeback and leave feedback as soon as you have a full refund. Never threaten a neg, just leave it once the situation is resolved.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for your reply. I'm not too sure what you mean by it not being the right way to do things though? Surely it would be worse to go ahead and open a dispute for goods being misdescribed when I haven't been able to clarify anything with the seller.

It sounds like you haven't purchased yet. If you threaten the seller like that before purchasing they will just block you and you won't be able to buy.
To be honest, you think the seller has misdescribed the item and they won't answer your messages - why on earth are you even still considering buying from them then!?!? It sounds like a disaster waiting to happen - why take the risk?
*edit* - sorry just re-read and realise you have already bought it! Here is the feedback extortion policy - your situation is not clear in any of the examples - http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/feedback-extortion.html0 -
if you don't respond by xxx then I will leave negative feedback
Extortion is form of blackmail, so by saying you'll leave a neg if they don't respond by X, then that's feedback extortion, and it'll get removed.
Why don't you just open a dispute if you want to return it, or leave a neg if you want to keep it but fed up of their lousy communication?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I would not mention the feedback in the message, though if they do not contact you back regarding the item you have purchased, I would be sure to leave them a negative for poor communication.
Something along the lines of "Poor After Sales Communication, Many Emails Not Answered".
I am sure though if you raised a dispute, they would be onto you first thing.0 -
Thanks all for your advice.
I think I'm going to leave it until tomorrow and then if I still haven't heard back I'll leave negative feedback.
Had it just been a problem with the discs not containing all the advertised software, I would have left a neutral as I don't plan on returning them because some of the content is useful, but it took over a week to send the stuff out and it was sent 2nd when i paid extra for 1st.
I wanted to give him a chance to sort out the problems, ie send on extra discs in case they'd been forgotten about, but he's obviously not too fussed.

If seller is not communicating with you how else do you expect them to clarify anything?
If you have an item SNAD then either open a dispute or just leave feedback.
Your original post before you changed it suggested that you hadn't even got the item- as you changed the OP it obviously changed the responses you would get.

Sorry you're completely wrong there - the only thing I edited in my original post was a grammatical error - I typed 'a item' instead of 'an item' and I went back to correct it.
At no point did I change the wording or add or take away anything in my post.0 -
