I've just moved from an Unlimited b/band package to a restricted usage one. I now need to measure my usage each month.
Ive seen various things to download to do this but thought I'd check here for reliable recommendations. It needs to be easy to use!
(Ps apologies if this is on the wrong area of the board, I wasn't sure if it should be in the Internet or Techie section)

most ISP's have their own monitoring software and all you will need to do is log onto your account online and you will find it, this is the only tracker they will likely pay any attention to unless you are seriously lucky.
other than that the thinkbroadband monitor is pretty good as it allows you to install it on numerous computers and link them together, however if you access the internet on other types of device (sky box for sky anytime, mobile phones etc) then this activity will not be able to be monitored with this type of softwareDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
Many routers incorporate a facility to log their incoming and outgoing throughputs. If yours is one, all you would have to do is switch that on.
Bear in mind, however, that some ISPs allow unrestricted use at certain times (Plusnet, for example, does not charge for Internet access between midnight and 8:00 am) so any software or router log that does not make provision for this would give you an unrepresentative reading.
If your ISP provides you with a webpage which displays your current month’s usage, it’s best to bookmark that and keep a regular check on it.Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance
