House Insurance - Flat roof?

    A lot depends on the percentage of flat roof. Up to around 10% is normally not a problem for most insurers.
    Beyond that and you can either expect a premium loading or an increased excess for storm damage.

    Is the roof felt on flat timber or is it a concrete deck.
    If it is a concrete deck then you should be okay.

    Yes - if it is a block of flats the landlord / property owner normally insures it and then passes the cost on to the tenants in the service charge.

    Very rare for the tenant to insure because they one or more tenants in the block may forget to renew and the building owner is left uninsured.
