sealing the outside of a PVC window frame

HI there, was looking for alittle advice My front window is very old PVC, and i cannot afford to replace any tiem soon, however where the window is next to the brick work the seal, or pointing/putty is coming away and in places there are big gaps. snapped a quick pic on my mobile this morning to give you a general idea

I am looking at doing this job myself, what would you recommend, an input will be greatly appreciated :)

    scrape it all out and reseal with silicone sealant.
    you can buy it in wickes etc.. various colors. 2-5 quid per tube.
    the sealant gun cost a couple of quid.
    Get some gorm.

    I would check behind the sealant. My install had a gap when I went to reseal, so had to use expanding foam to fill it.

    Good advice it will hold the window run masking tape up the wall and window this will stop anything sticking to it.

    Dognobs, masking tape it is, thanks. Think i will head out and get a few supplies today, as the weather has turned bad will wait for a dryish day

    Just make sure you clear out all the dirt and dust before applying the sealant. When its in, use the back of a wet spoon to smooth it out. Try to do it in one continual movement rather than stopping and starting, it makes for a neater finish.

    You need frame sealant not bathroom sealant by the way.
