Help finding a cheap city centre hotel in Gothenburg

My first choice would be Hotel Opera who operate a deal with Ryanair but when i asked they said both deals are not avaiable. Any tips on how to get a good deal ? Thanks:confused:

  • hi

best bet is to go to tripadvisor.co.uk and search for gothenburg hotels .they list the average price and also they are listed in order based on customer reviews.
the spar hotel garda has the highest ranking for a hotel around the £50 a night or less mark.
  • The Scandic Opalen (I think that's the name) offered the best deal for our trip to Gothenburg a year or so back.

It's a decent hotel (breakfast included) and seemed good value compared to other hotels I'd looked at. The location of the hotel was really good as well, just a short walk to the Avenyn.

We booked directly through their website.

When are you going and for how long, tazpants ?!?!

I live in Norway right now but I know alot about traveling and staying in Sweden ;)

If you are on a budget I'd say stay at the Formule 1 (part of the Ibis hotel family)

It's 10 mins from city center.
https://www.hotelclub.com can be worth checking out too... I just took a quick peek and you can get rooms IN city center for as low as £40 + you earn money back when you book thru them (used them a few times actually) and on your birthday they send you a money off amount to your account (£4 or something like that). I am limited to help ya though because it would be much easier to know when ya were going ;)

  • Thanks folks. Sorry, forgot to say we are going on 3rd Feb for 2 nights and flying into City Airport. I will check these all out.
  • We had a weekend in Gothenburg before xmas, we stayed at Hotel Odin (£80pn 4 3pp), 5min walk from the station & Ryan Air coach drop off point, great hotel & free evening buffet which was very good. I booked through the tourist board and our room was upgraded to a family suite.
