Over the years I’ve had various jobs done by different plumbers and their level of incompetence is breathtaking - I’ve found out that they fitted a plastic bath with no frame or supporting brackets (hence the bath flexing and causing leaks), fitted wrong connecting parts, to other sanitary ware, damaged floor while re-fitting a leaking cistern, not cleaning up after themselves etc. etc.

The CIPHE is a professional body so I probably can’t do any worse by picking one of these.

I can recommend Geof Tremblett, he has put in two central heating boilers for me in Cardiff. One in 2003, a combi boiler (we spent a few days in Weston-S-Mare while they got on with it) in a terraced house. Again in 2007, with a condenser combi boiler in a semi (we moved) + amend pipework for powershower.

I have used 4 over the past 3 years and 2 are dreadful and 2 were pretty good.
