I joined a company that doesnt pay sick pay
I have now been told by my dr that i need a hysterectomy and have to take 6/8 weeks off work, I cannot afford to do this, as you can imagine, my husband is on a low wage and we dont get tax credit due to their !!!! up (dont get me started on that one!)
Is there anyway we can get help as we cannot live on £81 per week!
HELP??
Thanks
Caroline

Do you mean they only pay Statutory Sick Pay or that you are not eligible for SSP?
If you meet the criteria for SSP they have to pay it to you. If not they need to give you a SSP1 form so you can put in a claim for Employment Support Allowance.

While receiving SSP/ESA you can put in a claim for low income benefits such as housing benefit.
