New boiler installation quote.

I've just had two quotes in for a new boiler installation and they're both a little higher than I was expecting. We're just had new pipes and a hot water cylinder installed, so everything in the house is brand new, including the radiators, etc.
The old boiler has been removed and the new one will go in exactly the same place.
The gas pipe from the meter does need upgrading to 22mm but it is only about 2 meters from the boiler. The quotes also include a new gas pipe to the gas hob in the kitchen but that's probably only about 3 from the meter.
Here is the latest quote we've had. The one before was £2250. We are in the South East.
Chemical flush of central heating system
(for boiler warranty to be valid)
Drain down system
Remove and dispose of old boiler
Supply and fit Worcester Bosch 30 cdi system boiler and flue
6 years parts and labour)
Upgrade gas pipe to boiler to 22mm
Supply and fit gas ppe work to hob
Commission hob
Commission central heating system and unvented cylinder
Provision being made for condensate waste removal
Central heating system refill with fernox inhibitor added
Boiler fully commissioned
Benchmark completed at back of boiler manual
Boiler notified to building regulators
Optional extra
Supply and fit fernox filter £150
Total: £2034 inc VAT.
I'm a bit confused why it needs a chemical flush and a drain down of the system when it's all brand new. Is it right that it's necessary for a valid warranty?
Any comments on this would be appreciated.

I'm sure your warranty would not be invalid if you didn't have a chemical flush. If you check the Worceser Bosch website it will probably say "we recommend" a flush.
It makes me laugh when people put on their quote about notifying building regs and completing the benchmark book, like they are providing chargeable extras for you! These are standard items and notifying building regs costs a few pounds for the installer to do.
In answer to your question, it seems a fair price for just a boiler swap, plus W.Bosch 30CDi is not a cheap boiler.Competition Wins:

worcester 30cdi for 732 quid. an expensive boiler?
i dont think so.Get some gorm.0 -
O.P. see here pages 9 and 33. Your RGI has given you a good, detailed quote and is not prevaricating.
dti2k: read the forum...too many folks caught out i.e. no Building compliance certificate, missing , blank or incomplete Benchmark....consumers should always check that these are included on the written quotation and not make an assumption. More here.

Hi,
Even with 4 beds 2 ensuites and 1bathroom in a bungalow a 30 kw boiler seems a litle over sized. Was it calculated to 30kw or guessed?
