Tell us HOW you 'transferred your music' into iTunes? Add files to library? Add folder to library? Rip CD?

If you don't like the way iTunes has it organised, can't you delete it from iTunes (assuming you have it all stored elsewhere) and reload it?

Just because you've loaded iTunes once, doesn't mean you can't do it again

I transferred it as add "folder to library"

OK, and what did iTunes actually do with the order of the imported music that was a problem?

It should sort it according to the Artist, Album, etc Tags on your mp3 files. Have you got them tagged?

Compilation albums are a stumbling block - have you many of those?

The compilations is where the problem has occurred as I have loads of them, I have spent the last couple of hours grouping them as mentioned above which is working although a slow process:(

I'm with Dave_C on this - iCarp is exactly that - Carp :)
    ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

    Yep agree totally:D
  • Well the lovely Itunes caused my works pc to keep crashing this morning, uninstalled it and now have media monkey installed which in appearance looks better than itunes, hopefully it is better all round;)
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds iTunes a pain in the @rse, why do Apple need to make it so bloody hard work, if I want to add music to an MP3 player using Media Player it's just a case of highlight, drag and drop, simples, yet Apple make such a simple task such a palava, I don't connect my iPod to the computor any more, I charge it using my iPod dock and add music via WiFi as this will automaticaly add any purchased music that isn't on your iPod.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world
  • With the problem earlier encountered with itunes, I've installed Media Monkey on my home pc which displays my albums correctly and not all split into individual tracks the itunes did, so all is good you might ask?

I have now found that Media Monkey doesn't recognise my new iphone 4S running on ios5:mad:

So for now its back to itunes:(

It does say on their site that it's not compatible with iOS5 yet, but I'm sure they'll have an updated version soon. Oh and your first post said iPod, not iPhone :p with the iPhone you're going to be stuck with iTunes for most things anyway.
Now free from the incompetence of vodafail
