Help with insurance maturity

My parents kindly paid in to a Scottish Friendly insurance scheme that matured when I turned 26. I received the policy documents to claim the amount, however there are 2 requirements that are tripping me up:
1. It has to be paid in to a UK bank account
2. It will be a cheque made out to my name and my name only (I can't designate another payee)
The problem here is that I emigrated to the US more than 3 years ago and no longer have a UK bank account, nor a UK address.
Can anyone suggest a way for me to collect the money my parents put aside that otherwise looks like being lost?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Aren't 1) and 2) contradictory?
Either
A) it will be paid directly into a UK bank account using the BACS system (in which case the name of the account holder isn't important and isn't checked)
ORyou will be posted a cheque made payable to you
If A), your US bank will probably have a London branch and can probably open an account with a standard UK sort code and account number, which you can give to the insurance company to pay the money in
Ifyou can just pay the cheque into your normal US bank account, although there will be charges involved. If the insurance company insist on a UK address, use a friend or relative, or use a firm of solicitors with office in both countries.
