Hello There
On Monday we'll be viewing 7 rental properties.
We'll then make an offer on one on Tuesday. This is our first time renting so we have no idea as to the procedure of it all.
Lets assume our offer is accepted. I think we then pay the LA a holding fee and fees for their credit checks. When they are happy with their checks what happens next?
When do I pay the deposit?
When do I get to see a copy of the contract? I would like to know the terms of the rental before I hand over the fees for holding and credit checks. Is this possible?
When do we do the inventory check and check the property? Is it on the day of moving or before? If before, how do I guarantee nothing is going to change inside the property before we move in?
Does anyone with the knowlege have the time to advise please?
Thank you so much in advance for your help and time.

hey
when we started renting 6 months ago the following happened:
handed money over for holding and credit checks with fully filled in applications
referances were taken from both our employers and a personal referance was taken
photocopies of 6 months of payslips to prove we could pay rent(think it was the landlady who asked for this as we were living with rents at this time)
2 weeks later we went to sign contract pay deposit and 1st months rent. we also collected the keys at the same time.
We only saw the property at the viewing and then not again untill we moved in. Our landlandy was very nice when we called the LA with silly questions about telephone line, washing machine plumbing and things like that.
Hope this is helpful0
