Taps4Less - Paid but no product & no refund

Taps4Less had a few bad write-ups on consumer sites, but I
bit the bullet and ordered through them. What a mistake. They processed my order and my payment for a pair of traditional bib taps, then did not deliver. They repeatedly assured me the product was due, one delivery day after another. Each time there was never a message giving a delivery time for each stated day; each time I would ring the company to ask what was going on. They would categorically tell me – there's a "delay of one day", or the order "will definitely be with you on Monday/Wednesday/Friday"; they let me have a long conversation and book another day for what eventually proved a phantom product. How come? Well, following research, contacting the product's manufacturer, I found the item had been discontinued in May this year. Taps4less appear not to keep stock and they were letting me order these taps in September. So there never was going to be a delivery (I could not find another company that supplied the product, or had it stashed in a warehouse). I was not offered a refund; I had to request it. I have threatened legal action. I have now had to demand the refund, citing their obligation to a legal contract (sales) and their "verging" near criminal intent.
Anyone else in the same boat?

Yeah I am exactly. I ordered some taps from them back in August, didn't hear anything until I emailed them on the 14th of September, and was told the taps were no longer supplied by the manufacturer. I requested a refund and was told that it would be processed.
No refund and didn't hear anything until I emailed them on the 3rd of October asking where my money was. They told me that the matter would be sent to the refunds department as a matter of urgency.
Still no refund. Which brings me to this morning. I was going to phone them and tell them that if my money was not back in my bank before the week was out I would start legal proceedings to recover it. However I cant seem to access their website to get the phone number and whilst trying stumbled on your post.0 -

Well that does seem like bad news. You seem to have been waiting longer than me for some decent behaviour from Taps4Less. I get the same messages about "matter of urgency" re: a refund; I've had them several times over this one matter. I have to say this has been the worst online purchase I've had to date. They blatantly appear to disregard the law; or if not that and it's just inter-departmental mismanagement, they need to be shaken up. You just can't take people's money and keep it, unless you're a thief! I suppose I'll have to exert huge effort and find a Taps4less executive and write letters.
Not what you need if you have a life!
Please let me know how you got on.0
