Getting a bit twitchy!

Hi,
I have been busy ignoring 3 letters (invoices) so far from a private car park. But now have had a letter from a Debt Recovery Bailiff Service and are getting a bit twitchy. I actually wasn't driving at the time, my husband was (I was passenger), but vehicle registered to me. Don't want to go to court, do I get a final chance to settle out of court if the worst comes to the worst? Or do I write and tell them I wasn't the driver?

Name and shame the company please.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Continue to ignore all the continuing chain of letters. It sounds as if they are having the desired effect from their point of view in that they are getting you worried.
Whatever you do, do not contact them at all.
By the way which bunch of cowboys is it?0 -
Debt collectors have no more power than you and I to demand or, indeed, enforce payment of debt although they have done a brilliant job over the years in promoting the suggestion that they do. You have nothing to fear. If a debt collector is threatening you will bailiffs in advance of any court case they are jumping the gun more than somewhat. They might also just be bullsh*tting you.
Who are these jokers? Name and shame them!My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -

As others have said, private firms like this have as much power as you or I to charge anyone anything but it doesnt mean you have to pay.
If I say 'my advice costs £10' and charge you, it doesnt make it legal and you can pay if you want to but you have no obligation to do so.
You can pay me if you want, I like free money like everyone does

Ooooo, so maybe you can help us to complete the NGP letter-chain then, to help people in future? If so please send a pm to Crabman, the thread starter of the top thread, with a link to each DRP letter, explaining that it continues the NGP letter-chain.
I see that on our top thread we only have the NGP letters but no link to which debt collector letter-chain they use, only because no-one has supplied the pics yet:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2214803
But if you look at other companies listed on that first post, you should find 'your' DRP letter. Betting it is there, and that you can see what will come next in that DRP letter-chain. That should help put your mind at rest.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
