Thomas Cook Travel Money Card for Vegas?

Hi all,
Myself and my better half are off to vegas for 6 days for our honeymoon. Its six weeks today
Im in two minds about what to do about cash. I dont plan on paying for everything on a card. Im more comfortable taking out a largish chunk ($300ish dollars at a time) and having that money on me. Id prefer to do that than be like the queen and never have cash on me, or taking it all in cash.
That been said, does anyone have any experience of the travel money cards? Not the credit cards! Looking online the two main grips are charges and only been able to check balance online. Neither of these are an issue, as I wont be doing a lot of withdrawals and have free wifi at the hotel.
The other options is to just transfer all the money from the savings account onto my bank card and use that.
Any advice and experiences on this would be greatly appreciated. Also, the 300odd page vegas thread here looks like a gold mine!
Thanks.

If you really want a pre-paid card the Kalixa card looks to be the best value if you make large'ish withdrawals, there's a £2.25 fee for ATM withdrawals but no exchange rate markup (you get the unadulterated MasterCard rates which are pretty much interbank). Spending is free.

It's likely to be cheaper than your bank unless you have an account with one of the few who don't charge. If you live in London you could consider a MetroBank account.0 -
We have used FairFX card for several years now, main benifit is you actually lock your money at the exchange rate when you transfer it.
Beware that you will also pay a fee to the cash machine you use in Vegas normally $5 per transaction on the Strip and arond $3 downtown so factor this in. There are no fee's for using the card in shops ect.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0
