Car insurance query

Hi All,
Hoping someone can help with my query.
Background is that me & hubby will be moving to Beijing possibly next month. My car insurance runs out on 5th November and it's likely that we will still be here then (we're waiting on confirmation of our move date).
The plan is for my daughter to use my car while we're away with me using it when I come back to visit.
We had thought that I would cancel the insurance at renewal time & she would insure herself for it and I would just get cover when I come back for visits as these visits would be for 1-3 weeks at a time.
What I need advice on is the cancellation at renewal time. Can I cancel, daughter get cover and I just add myself as 'named driver' for the period that I will still be in the UK prior to moving or is there a better way of doing this so that I can still use my car? Is another option that I keep myself insured for a month? BTW, she has her own car that she uses but will sell once we leave.
Hope this is clear, if not, please feel free to ask me to clarify.
Thanks very much

Don't renew your insurance when it expires but put it in your daughters name with you on as a named driver.0

Thank you very much. It must seem like I'm a bit dense but I have so much to think about that my brain is a fog!!
Thanks x0 -
Or you could just renew it but with her noted as the man driver for the coming year.0

Thanks, I think I'll just cancel mine as she isn't due for renewal yet and the qoute she got for my car was with her own insurance company so I think she'll stick with that (not sure when hers is due for renewal) and I can be added as a named driver for the necessary length of time.0

Don't simply cancel your policy until you have got comparative quotes.
If you have a No Claims Bonus you may find that you can get a cheaper quote for your own policy with your daughter as main driver and you as a named driver.
If your daughter takes out her own policy on your car if it was her 2nd car she would not have a No Claims Bonus so would cost more for her to insure. If she sold her own car first, and then transferred your car onto her existing policy then she would retain her existing NCD. Note also that her premium may be reduced if she adds you as a named driver for the whole year. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. If you are letting your policy run it's course don't use the word cancel when calling your ins co. Tell them you don't wish to renew and want the policy to lapse.
There's a difference between cancelling and lapsing and that usually includes ££.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Just to update, we now know we will still be in the UK when my car insurance runs out and my daughter's insurance is on a rolling contrct.
The tax on her car runs out at the end of this month, so what we've done is:
She has got quotes for her to insure my car with her as the main driver and me as the named driver - adding me is a negligable amount so we're going with that.
She will sell her car.
I've phoned my insurance company & told them I won't be renewing and that I've made other arrangements.
I will continue to use my car up until we leave the UK and will then have use when I return.
Thanks fr the advice & suggestions, much appreciated.0
