Qucik Qustion re Egg Card PPI

Hi All,
Before I embark on reclaiming PPI from Egg that I cancelled a long time ago, jsut wanted to ask how important is it to send a SAR letter and establish how often i've been charged etc to answer the relevant question on the form?
Is it best to get SAR and outline as much info as possible or do I just go ahead with the info I have from the past year? And, hope they look into my account by themselves....
I'm reclaiming because I wadn't eligible for the PPI they sold me as I hadn't been in continous emplyment for the 6 months prior to opening the account. And, quite frankly, I was very green when I applied back in 2000...my first ever credit product and still owe them money more than a decade later! I applied online.
Just want to give myself the best chance of success, and wise words from those who've been there before me would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance,
V

Hi there
Do not worry about the editing, we all do it lol.:D;)
Anyway, a SAR is optional, but may help if you've nothing to work on at all.
However, they should still hold your details going back to the last 6 years, but are not obligated to hold them prior to that, but they may still hold them from when you first taken the account out, they have ways of working it out on calculating, where if successful they should enclose a breakdown as well.
So basically its up to you if you want to request a SAR, if you decide to do this, I expect you are aware that you enclose the one off payment of £10 cheque or postal order, and they have 40 calendar days to comply.
There is a full sar template letter below link.

To make a reclaim, you basically just complete the reclaim questionnaire on step 3 below, send and keep a copy in case you need to refer back to this again at some point.
Give them details of everthing that applies to you, good luck.

If you decide to go for the SAR, you can still of course continue to make your reclaim complaint.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thanks Di. I'll have a wee think. It might scare me to see how much i've paid them in charges over the years....!!! Just not sure how important that bit of the form is in strengthening what I send, might just go for it.....
