Help with online returns please

Can anyone help regarding debenhams online purchases? I've always taken them back to store for a refund, as stated on the delivery note, even if they are in the sale and never had a problem until today. I've been told the policy changed on 1st Oct and a) they dont accept instore at all any more and b) i wont get a refund at all, just credit into my account. I ordered my goods before 1st Oct and have not received notification of this change and the del note still states i can take goods to store for a refund. Can i insist that i get a refund? Any help appreciated.

It does not matter on what is said on the goods / delivery note when it arrives, it matters what it said on the website T&Cs when you purchased the goods.
Assuming you are returning under DSR you should be able to get your money back (and not just credit in to your account).Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
DSR's enable you to notify them in writing of your intent to cancel (but can be by telephone if the retailer accepts this form of communication). You are entitled to a full refund (including delivery costs) but may be required to pay return postage depending on if you were notified of this prior to the contract being concluded.
You need to notify them of your intent to cancel within 7 working days of receiving the goods.
After this, you are relying on their goodwill and may have to accept a credit note. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Not forgetting that if their returns policy includes a longer term then that is a contractual right. No need to rely on their goodwill in this case.unholyangel wrote: »After this, you are relying on their goodwill and may have to accept a credit note.
OP, have a look at their website.
Click on How do I return? under Orders and website help box.
You haven't told us what you purchased, but if you read that you will find that they allow return to your local store of everything ordered online, except furniture and sports goods.0 -

Interestingly enough it says you can return to store on the website for everything except furniture and sports equipment. However there are exclusions. Like sale goods. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
