I can relate to this I had a Fuji camera that took AA batteries and I'm not the most efficient at remembering to recharge etc. I decided to buy a canan ixus and it is a fantastic camera. My husband took it away on a work trip for 2 weeks took about 60 photos over this period with the camera going on and off all the time and he forgot the charger. It was still charged when he got back. if you want a simple camera its great.
  • I have just got a Sony DSC W70 and it uses a rechargable lithium battery, I would much prefer rechargable AAs though, my 2800 MHAs lasted ages, charged very quickly and I have several sets of them. If I want a spare battery for my Sony it will cost at least £30, but its so good to have a spare I might just have to get one.

Another vote for AA batteries here. When I was looking to buy a new camera, AA batteries was one of the main requirements. I have used it with the Nimh variety and can literally take hundreds of snaps without having to recharge. Also nimh batteries don't suffer from the 'memory' effect where each recharge reduces the amount of juice it can store for the next time. Lithium batteries just do not have enough advantages(or even any) for me to have considered them and they cost a hell of a lot more to replace if they become faulty.
