Hello all,
Does anyone know of a drive that is compatible with windows 95 (driver on floppy disk) and also with win xp (shouldn't be a problem?). I need to transfer files from a win 95 computer as new data is generated and floppy disks are just incredibly slow...

Hi
Most Windows 95 versions won't support any USB devices at all.
There's a couple of links here which will help you decide which version you are running and whether it supports USB or not.

Co-incidentally, I today, recieved a device that will alow you to do this if you aren't worried about removing HD from old 'puter and not averse to paying £14.00.
Its a USB to Sata/ata/ide connector and VERY simple to use.
Once connected it's a 'drag n Drop' process.
Search on fleebay will give you what you need.
Afterwards, it'll give you an external HD to play with too."Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0
