Returning ebay item when fault develops?

Options
Hi all

I was wondering how people feel about returning an item (a bag)after a month as a fault has now developed making it unusable. ie (The handle is severely coming away from the bag on both sides)

If it was a purchase from a shop, it would be returned and covered by consumer laws as it is not fit for purpose.

Does the seller have to accept the return for a replacement or refund?

Will ebay even consider the case?

Thanks in advance :)

Just do a SNAD and you will get to return it as long as it's within 45 days. Have you tried contacting the seller first though. try asking the seller first, if he refuses then look for advice.

    Thanks for the reply.

I have messaged the seller but have not yet had a reply. Forgot to mention the item is from a business seller and was new. Not sure if this helps. :o

If it is a business seller you have a lot of rights, including for the bag to have to be fit for purpose. However, just don't let go of the deadline to open an SNAD - 45 days is just over six weeks so if you don't get any prompt resolution from the sender then you can open a dispute.
