I suggest that you all avoid London, the fall out from this could be very expensive. Its not about the money of course.

It will certainly keep pepipoo busy of people actually find £1,000 PCNs on their cars. Surely EVERYONE would appeal? Trouble is, the all-or-nothing gamble for a figure like that would make some people think the stakes were too high to 'chance' adjudication.
Not saying people should park where they shouldn't of course - particularly when the Olympics are on, but I have to say the punitive level of fine they are discussing is actually sickening and nothing to do with parking enforcement surely.
It's all about the money, money...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Completely ridiculous, of course (well, this is the Sun, isn't it). If true, the coucils are simply being greedy. Already a parking ticket costs more than "proper" offences like speeding, running a red light or driving without due care. A £1000 fine would exceed the fine dished out for some fairly serious offences, motoring and non-motoring alike, making this completely disproportionate, and not in line with the actual offence committed.0

They are stealthily increasing the scope and cost of parking, Westminster are particularly nasty, they charge motorbikes and scooters to park, and have been caught out by Nutsville and the NoToMob, using a non compliant camera system to issue CCTV fines, to the tune of £9 million in wrongful penalties, see www.nutsville.com

I assume this will also mean that ppc's invoices will also go up as will clampers fees. I would also expect that the fees under schedule 4 would be affected.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
