I have been busy ignoring 3 letters (invoices) so far from a private car park. But now have had a letter from a Debt Recovery Bailiff Service and are getting a bit twitchy. I actually wasn't driving at the time, my husband was (I was passenger), but vehicle registered to me. Don't want to go to court, do I get a final chance to settle out of court if the worst comes to the worst?
Do you mean Newlyn? They are one example of a company which has a separate bailiff arm, which is completely different from their debt collector status when acting for a PPC. But they like to use headed notepaper which includes the word 'bailiff'. It means nothing in this instance.
If it's just Debt Recovery Plus or Roxburghe then you are reading the word 'bailiff' into this when it does not exist.
No need to get twitchy whoever it is - either way they are JUST a debt collector, a pen-pusher, a letter-issuer. That's all. And as Kite2010 says, you can almost certainly find 'your' letter-chain on our top sticky thread and just play snap with each matching letter.
No worries, honestly.

Cheers for all the replies everyone! Much appreciated!
Hopefully I haven't caused any issue's for myself by sending that email.... I'll sit tight now and ignore any other contact I receive.
Thanks again0 -
Thanks guys for all your replies.
The 1st 3 letters came from New Generation Parking, the 4th letter came from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd. and in a second smaller line underneath, Recovery, Investigation & Bailiff Services.0 -

Means nowt, I must admit I had never noticed that DRP use that word. It's irrelevant without a Court order of course, and that won't happen. In this instance they are acting as 'recovery agents' which just means they send letters...and more letters...then maybe another letter with a PCS (Parking Collection Services) logo...then they give up.PRIVATE 'PCN'? Further to my original post I received a letter today from VCS stating -
"Further to your correspondence received on the 16th October in connection to the above parking charge notice.
The payment of £80.00 is to be received within our office by the 17th October if payment is not received by this date the amount payable will increase to £120.00. Failure to comply may result in issue of court proceedings."
My first thought is the letter is dated 2nd November.... Issued 2 weeks late.
Another point is that they've stated the fine will increase on 17th Oct... The fine was only issued on 15th Oct... So that's incorrect too.
How would this letter stand up in court for VCS??
Thanks0 -

Well it won't go to Court of course, but theoretically their 'case' would collapse like a house of cards. What a rubbishy letter, typical of the whole industry.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If the PPC believed they had a winnable case in court they would have taken you to court by now.
No court papers = they are bluffing0
