What is it about the TV that makes you think that it is not 1080p full HD? Are your input devices (blu ray player/sky HD) set to output the signal at 1080 and are you using an HDMI cable rather than SCART?

It's definitely a Full HD 3D, as it uses active shutter lenses, which can create a 1080p 3D image. How are you connecting up things, and what is it you're using?

I have 2 test files via usb stick.

You can see all is fine on the 2d test file and you can read all numbers and letters.

Switch to 3d and its all jumbled up.

Take a look at this link that explains more.

Samsung are denying there is a problem, if they say there is nothing wrong then you will struggle to reject it as faulty. How long have you had it, could DSR be an option for you?
  • Where did you buy it from? it would be down to the retailer to address any issues you had with it and not Samsung.

    Hi,

I have been intouch with the retailer and this was the responce.

    Dear Stuart,
Many thanks for your follow up email.
There is nothing that we have to fix unless you have a letter from Samsung stating there is a fault with your unit. Obviously if there is then we will repair your television under the terms of the manufacturers guarantee.
If you have any technical correspondence, I can forward this to Samsung for their response.
    Kind Regards

    Dear Stuart,
    Many thanks for your email,
The specification for the product that we provide is the same specification that is provided by Samsung. Should you wish to take this further then you may contact contact Samsung via mail or telephone.
    Kind Regards

  • That's a load of rubbish, if there is a fault it is up to the retailer to prove it is down to something that is not inherent (assuming you have owned it less than 6 months).

Provide them a letter before action (search the website for a template) and give them 7 days to fix it and then if they do not comply start a small claim for your money back. They are selling goods that do not conform to contract, this has nothing to do with Samsung.

The retailer is an absolute cowboy!

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but if the test image/signal is using top/bottom then it will never be a true 1080p 3d image.

Have you tried using a 3d blu ray in a machine connected with a 1.4 standard HDMI cable?

Also, is this a question of Samsung's misrepresentation of its own stuff again? Are they adding 2 x 520 and rounding up to 1080p for each lens in the glasses?

I remember when they passed off their ClearMotion 100 technology as being exactly the same as hardware 100Hz on 2D screens - and it's not. Thankfully I got to see one and compare it to the real 100Hz on my CRT monitors and TV - and then strike Samsung off the list.
