    Old habits die hard :)

So seriously - can you not buy fireworks with out the licence? Cos Ive seen plenty of kids about here throwing them at cars
  • Of course you can buy them without license, just take my attitude and F the G.
  • i think it is stupid that we need a licence to set of fireworks but yet the english can do it all year round no problem

oh well looks like the kids ive to look after wont be getting a small firework display :(

It is stupid but this is the tip of the iceberg. As someone within the chemicals industry, I can tell you that you have no idea how much hassle there can be because of the potential for explosives. I understand it totally but it can be a major hindrance for the NI industry because Ireland and mainland UK have no such regulation.

    Actually, this prompts a question.

On the mainland, yobs with fireworks are now quite a serious problem. Years ago, it was impossible to buy fireworks until a week or so before bonfire night. The police also took a very dim view of them being let off on any other night.

So, given that the authorities now complain of this problem, who exactly legalised year-round firework sales?
Not to sound like a Victor Meldrew, but they're a pain in the bum. They may be great fun for the kids & all that but I'll bet not many people think about the pets & even young children who are scared witless by the bangs & whooshes.
My old cat Orbit used to go & hide under the bed & even peed under there when these things go off he got that stressed.
As to the yob's with fireworks, the police need to take a tougher stance with them.A few years ago,I was heading up to Antrim to trade in my old car for a new one,as I approached the Fort William junction,a firework went screaming across the motorway only a couple of feet in front of my car,if I'd have been going faster,it would have hit my passenger side.
  • ill have to see if i can find tem some sparklers and gloves (dont want any injuries) and i reckon they will be happy with that

  • Isn't the only point of fireworks to shoot at the police?

Any chance someone could ban this troll? (or at least point out to him that he comes across as a pathetic child, rather than amusing, as he appears to think he is)
