There has been a remarkable shift in attitude from the staff to these events over the last 5 years. There is far less drunken debauchery and much more work. I'd say everyone knows we're under pressure and doesnt want to give anyone any excuse.... if you get my drift.0 -
Hardly great for moral though. If the banks are ever to get out their financial mess and the taxpayer their money bank then we need the best bankers. And to get the best you have pay for it. Besides how much would a Christmas do and new mobiles all round really cost?

TBH the front office don't give a toss as they can pay for their own party (and will probably still have one on the quiet using the company Amexs). The back office will be all annoyed but there are hardly any back office jobs out there so they can't leave!0 -

Although in a nod to the current times we have moved them to hotels in some fairly remote and godforsaken parts of the country for the last few years.
