Redundancy mean I'm eligible for CTC?

Having been informed of an impending redundancy, Ive fortunately managed to find a new job but on a considerably less salary. My current salary is too high to be eligible so have received nowt this year so far however my new salary will be eligible according to entitled to. My question is given for half of the tax year I have been above the 'threshold' will I be able to claim? With my new salary and salary to date this tax year my total income for the whole tax year will be above the limit. Do they look at total salary for the year or will the be calculation be made based on the remainder of the tax year, my new salary and pro-rated?
