Firstly, sorry I'm a complete newb and know absolutely nothing really.
I completed my mortgage application with my FA on Wednesday evening. He said it would be submitted on thursday (18th).
How long should it take for the lender (Nationwide) to give a confirmed decision? And once they've accepted it *touch wood* how long before they instruct the valuation?
Also, Nationwide put their rates up on the 19th. Should my older rate be secured if it was submitted on the 18th?

It took me 2 weeks to get my completed mortgage finalised with nationwide but i went direct with them didnt use a FA ..They took my money for the valuation as soon as my credit check came back clear and believe it or not the survey was done 2 days later! I also paid a resrvation fee to fix my mortgage so it didnt go up with the new rises i was very impressed with the speed of it all, they told me it would be 6 weeks to complete, but we had all the necessary documents etc to proceed quite quickly.moved on 2nd feb07:beer:0

Thanks for that. We haven't payed an arrangement fee because it's being added to the loan, but I take it the rate should be secured?0
