Expedia, Do you have to print off a voucher from somewhere to hand in a check-in?

Hi,
Ive got a couple of hotels booked through Expedia in a couple of weeks time ( 1 in London, 1 in NYC ) and from what i remember from booking through them before ive always had to print off a voucher from my itinerery page to hand in at check-in, ive looked all around this page/confirmation email and cant find anything that looks like a hotel voucher.

Is the comfirmation email all i will need?
My mind tends to wander............If found please return;)

I can spell...................I just cant type:confused:

my Expedia email confirmation for a hotel booking next month kind of looks like a voucher on the bottom of it - its in a large box and has the itinerary number and what I've booked on it. Thats what I've printed off and will be taking with me. I have another hotel booked with travelrepublic too, and that booking email looks similar.
  • Hi Balletshoes,

Yes, thats what ive got to, but i distinctly remember in the past that there was something down the left-hand side of the page where it says things like print your itinerey, etc that said something like print off hotel vouchers, car hire vouchers etc.

    Thanx for your quick response.

i'm sure what you have will be fine - my confirmation email for travelrepublic a couple of years ago was similar to what I have now, and it was accpeted no problem :).
  • expedia don't really have vouchers, its best to print off, or have access on a smart phone, but many hotels don't require to see it unlike other hotel sites like octopus etc

if you log into your account on expedia and manage bookings you can print from there also

i guess certain hotel sites pay the hotel based on the voucher, whereas expedia pay upfront for the hotel.

I book a lot with Expedia & generally have never needed vouchers HOWEVER I do always print off a copy of everything they send me: hotel detail, flight times etc as if there's a problem, you at least have the info to hand.

The only time I have needed vouchers is on my trip to Vegas where we had pre booked a shuttle to & from the airport & you definately needed your vouchers for that.
  • as we mention expedia don't forget to claim your 10% cashback on the hotel by going via quidco or topcashback

its amazing how many people ignore this simple money saving process

depending on the hotels - you may have a reference number from expedia which you can use to log in on the hotel's website and check the reservation - when we use a 3rd party, we normally do this to be sure all is OK...but if we don't have that option, we just print out the confirmation from expedia...can't recall ever having a voucher as such, but we don't use them much.

Have never actually needed a printed confirmation though...every hotel we've arrived at has had our details based on our name, etc...but I like to have them for my own peace of mind.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
