Fortunately, for me, the nightmare is nearly over, as tomorrow I will be calling my bank to settle my loans and I'll be paying off my credit cards.

I am definitely a spreadsheet obsessive. I use google docs so I can access from home, work or elsewhere, and update every time I spend anything. I have millions of tabs, including ones where I weekly update tbc, valued opinions and shopandscan account values so that I can keep track of how much extra I will have to spend at Christmas. I also get really annoyed when I have anything in the "debit card spending" section for more than a day. If I can update my spreadsheet that quickly by hand, why can't their electronic systems update my bank account?!

There are some free mse type spreadsheets on www.d-an-g.co.uk for those who do not know how to put them together.

I am realising I am such a lightweight  (shame I don't say that on the Slimming World threads :o:);))

  • I love my spreadsheet too!!!:D

At the moment its got 13 different sheets

    -Curry recipes
-debts sheet showing all debts, monthly balances, and projected df dates
    - sheet for hubby showing all outgoings and incomings plus the balance when i last checked the banks and projected balance at the end of the month
    - sheet for me showing the same
    - combined sheet showing overall income v expenditure
    - chart data showing projected v actual balance of hubbys bank(as he has an overdraft) helps pinpoint our fd date more accuratley for that particular debt
    - graph
    - credit card sheet showing minimum payments, balances and due dates
    -recipe planner
    -meal planner
    -shopping list
    - nursery fee check
    -christmas list and budget

When i get to work in the morning its the first thing i open after my emails and it stays open all day just in case i remember an expense i need to add or find a receipt or want to tweak our budget. I would have no idea where we are up to without it!!

Theres going to be another page added soon as ive just opened a Co-op account for all my bills to go out of.Should help me spread my remaining cash better!

Yes, you have all inspired me! I need a spreadsheet! I love spreadsheet's at work but am only at the point of slowly extracting my head out of the sand with regards to debt. I probably ought to do an SOA too.
