  • I think it is great that Kelly Clarkson has been reading my post and has been so inspired she has released a song with my motto on:
"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"
    How nice of her:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You know, I was a very very very good girl this evening. I got right through to the check out stage on the Body Shop website and then thought NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOO you do not need this and you cannot afford it!:p
    The new improved me:T

Looks as though my golden goose may be on its last legs though as I have a new temporary boss who is unlikely to sanction overtime (well, the paid type - he may of course let us work it for free:() I may have to live on my basic salary which will be oh so difficult on my DMP.

On the plus side things have settled down at home now DS has embedded his self at his Grandparents - poor things:A

  • This is a man bashing rant, this is the simple truth:mad: I cannot deny it, this is a tirade against the male sex.

For those men who one day may read it and argue that this is not typical of all their se then I extend an apology. However:

The CSA rang me up to give me the good news that my ex would finally be paying me some maintenance again: £35 a week. Great, not megabucks but better than nothing:T. Since I have had nothing since November this would of course be back dated which is great news as there are a number of school trips coming up and clothing is needed etc. brilliant news.

Now ex has known for some time that this is on the cards, we hav even discussed it AND this situation has arisen before. BUT has he put anything aside to cover the arrears - NO:mad:

His solution - please will you cancel the CSA and I will give you £15 per week:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::mad::mad::mad::rotfl:

Really - who in the right mind - I got a tenner when he was unemployed.

So, as a consequence he is now threatening to have his boss make him redundant - my response-

    Fine, whatever, do it:mad:

It's not typical of men and I accept your apology. Most do pay the child support that is due without the help of the CSA....but £15 a week....he's having a laugh. It should always be around £30 a week. £6.08 minimum wages times 37.5 hours less tax and NI means £200 net. 15% of that is £30 less 1/7th for each night that he has the child.

Unfortunately for you he would be better off not working and claiming benefits so if he does quit then only you will be worse off. He will still get the rent paid, the council tax paid and get £67.50 a week and pay you £5 of that and he can earn some cash on the side which he may be tempted to do.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Thanks, I know you are correct, but I am so fed up of his behaviour and how it inevitably impacts on his daughter and I that I honestly think it would be better to get £5 and at least know where we stand. We broke up over money, he has consistently broken agreements in the past (thus the use of the CSA) and he is completely incapable of managing his finances. (I am far from perfect but I look like a saint compared to him and that I saying something).

Ah well, the ball is in his court.

  • I am going to offer my ex £20 a week back of the proposed maintenance until the arrears part is over. This is for the first ten weeks - he can then pay me back at £10 a week. So for ten weeks he pays CSA £95 but I give home £20 back. It then drops to the agreed £35 a week but he gives me additional £10 for 20 weeks. Our daughter wil be the banker thus forcing us into submission through major sense of shame should either try to renege.:T

I shall also point out to him that min wage is going up and tax allowance going up as I doubt he knows. Hmmm, watch this space.
