Without wishing to cause offence if it's that clear to you, why the interest in the opinions of others.
If you simply want to pass on your concerns then you have to accept some will not share them, or not be so pessimistic.

One potential problem with asking the opinion of others is that they don't always agree with you.

You are quite right ..... my opinion of the opinion that we are all OK and the Government will look after us come thick or thin is that that is the opinion of those who like to stick their heads in the sand - that's my opinion ;)

When the collapse happens it will be so bad that we all will just be so grateful to get back 10p in the £ that the Government will be off the hook ......... I can see it as clear as day.

    MrRee,

Can I ask what steps you have taken to cope when "the collapse" happens?

Are you stocking up on tinned food?

Have you taken all monies that you have away from the banks so that you can't lose it?

Have you done anything else in preperation for the day that is looming?

I am genuinely interested to know?

No government can let any significant bank go to the wall. The issue isnt personal savings, it's corporate deposits and complex interbank links. If one major bank really goes bust they all will ....

If you genuinely believe a large global bank or economy will fail, take precautions by stocking up on a years supply of tinned foodstuffs and be sure to know where you can gain access to a firearm.

You obviously live in the city ses6jwg. Out here in the country (where the food is) lots of people have gun cupboards and firearms: huntin, shootin, ...

This will all reach a tipping point - not sure when, but you cannot hope that those without will just stand by while the Bankers and others reward themselves with taxpayers money!

I doubt that you are interested in what I have done at all .... just seeking ammunition in an attempt to sniper me and others concerned about the unfolding situation.

For what it's worth - I have removed every penny which was tied up in long term accounts and placed this money into instant, no notice, accounts.

I have ensured that I only have a maximum £50,000 in each of these 12 accounts. I don't believe for one moment that £85,000 will be covered (but everyone up to £50,000 may be?) .. either way I can move this money in an instant via Bank Transfer.

I have bought the maximum Premium Bonds for my wife and I - that is £60,000 in Government .... of course, the Banks will fold before the UK Government.

I am about to buy a classic car, some paintings and fine wine.

I am going to put the remaining approx. £225,000 into property as soon as I can.
