Personally i shop throughout the year for christmas presents. I make the most of deals when i see them. Today i strolled into Tesco and saw clothing and bags at £1 each. I picked up 2 pairs of PJ's and a white bag.. all of them originally £8 each.
I'm pretty much starting on next year now.0 -
Thanks Gemmy
Ive started to pick up litlle bits and bobs and normally get main presents early (to make sure ive got them).
Money is a bit tighter this year and wasnt sure if the shops put the prices up for christmas or if they always reduce nearer the time?0 -
Last year I waited thinking the offers might be better nearer christmas but missed out on a lot of things (sold out) and missed great deals because I wanted to think about it first!
If you see a good deal now I'd go for it!0 -
I've been picking up bits and pieces since September, and have managed to get loads of bargins, in Tescos for my 2 boys, heavily reduced WWE figures/ring, arm cuffs for £8.50 for the whole lot when the RRP is in excess of £60.
Money is tighter this year, so have picked things up as I have seen things. Done a few 'glitches' at Tescos (mini wine/chocolate oranges), Boots FCUK mens toiletries, and have saved a heap of money.
I'd say buy them now to know that you have them, if you wait for them to be cheaper then you may be dissappointed if you can't get them at a later date.
My rule is, if I see something 'cheap' for a price I am happy/willing to pay then I will get it now and save for christmas and birthday presents. TK Maxx currently have boxes of mega bloks carbon series kits - a bit like logo to make up cars, helicopters etc for £4.99 a box on Amazon they are £8.49 and £11.49 each, so I've grabbed some for give as christmas presents.2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -
It is tricky. There is a chance that the prices may go down slightly in the run up to Christmas. Amazon reduced one type of GHD's in the run up to xmas a couple of years ago for example- think they were roughly £70. However the offer was very limited and a lot of people missed out. There also may be a chance that Tescos will release a new points code that could be used to get a Kindle for instance.
However there is also the risk that things may go out of stock. These kind of last minute deals usually get snapped up very quickly. If you are after a specific model then you may be better getting it now- remember to go through quidco and check for any free delivery codes etc. If you are less fussy then it may be worth holding off for a few weeks and seeing if any offers come up

Thank you for all your replies. Think i will take your advice and get the main things now but keep an eye out for a good deal on other presents and try to save a bit of money that way.
thank you

I always get a few bits from September onwards, I need to get 3 nintendo dsi XL's this year, I am torn between buying them soon or waiting. You can guarantee the second I buy them, they will be in the sale afterwards!Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0

Hi
thats exactly what i thought. Happened to me last year.
wasnt sure if someone watching the forum would work in the industy and give me the heads up on any offers that are planned for later, but no such luck!
thanks for the reply:)0 -
Given the weather last year, the delayed deliveries (if bought online - and given that, the stuff getting to the shops) and reports that it's going to be the same if not worse this year.... I'd go for peace of mind and get them now.Princess Sparklepants0
