Insurance for modified car (engine swap)?

Hi all,
Can anyone suggest good insurers for modified cars?
I think the well known ones are Adrian Flux, Greenlight, Hyperformance, HIC...
Are there any other lesser known ones out there anyone has had cheap quotes with?
I've been with the same insurer now for about 4 or 5 years as no other insurer seems to be able to beat their renewal quotes. My standing is generally very good (history/locality/usage/job etc) but my car is quite old and has a non standard engine in limiting me to a handful of insurers and those that do insure can quote crazy amounts (one over £8k this year!). My renewal quote this year is £370 TPFT (including personal insurance and breakdown cover). This is £20 more than last year which I guess is good for a renewal quote these days as I'm over 30 and my NCB has reached its maximum...
Just thought I'd see if there's any others out there at all...

Acorn Insurance brokers ?The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0

If it's a Jap car then Keith Michaels, A-Plan, Sky and Pace Ward come to mind. These are the go to companies on the Subaru Impreza and Mitsubishi Evo forums.
Worth trying if it's a non-Jap car too I suppose.0 -

Performance magazines are full of insurers advertising for modified vehicles.
Find the online forums for your car make or model and see if they have a company that offer discounts.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
