I see on the site that the driver has the contract with the landowner but what happens if it goes to court I was not the driver but I was in the car. I had been drinking being the registered keeper it would have been illegal to move the car would I be guilty by association?

Presumably the private parking company/landowner will allege that a contract existed between them and the OP's driver and that as a consequence he/she is liable to pay a contractual charge. All pie in the sky though.
@OP - Briefly, ignore it and any of the letters you may or may not receive. The contract isn't worth the signs it was supposedly printed on.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
