internet security suite

My Mcfee has just expired. I dont want to renew it
as its 2005 and I can get the newer version for £25.
I was going to put on the free stuff I read about here.
But I have seen Zonealarm internat security suite 2007 for £25 on Amazon. Also Mcfee internet suite 2007 for £25.
Which is the better buy or do I just go for the free stuff.
Cheers Shug.

Only you can make that decision but you could get McAfee Anti-virus Internet Security Suite 2006 much cheaper here.

    Check out these reviews Shug.

    Firewall http://www.webuser.co.uk/products/Firewalls_203_index.html

I had McAfee 2005, and had problems with the 2006 upgrade, so switched to the Free alternatives almost 12 months ago. I currently use Win XP firewall, Win Defender, and AVAST! anti-virus. I have also used the free AVG anti-virus, recommended above; and that was good too. I've had no problems to date.

But you need to do your own research, and make your own mind up mate.

Since putting on AVG, which is free, yesterday instead of McAfee Enterprise, it actually found a virus that McAfee missed. And who knows how long it had been there. It's certainly put me off McAfee and it shows how good the free software can be.

I'm not keen on the Security Suites, I think you're better of getting products from different places as some companies firewalls are better, some companies Anti-virus are better etc.

    Personally I use

    Zone Alarm Firewall
    AVG Anti-Virus
    Ad-Aware
    Spybot

All of the above are free and I've not had any problems since using them.

BTW I wouldn't recommend the built in XP firewall as it only checks incoming traffic, Zone Alarm and most other firewalls check outgoing traffic as well.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die
