return date for annual policy?

i am trying to get annual travel insurance as im going away twice this year. it is asking for a return date. is this the return date of my first trip or of my second trip? it doesn't ask how many trips are planned or anything like that. (i have searched i cannot find it for looking)

    If you have booked your first trip and paid for it, then buy the annual policy today, with the start date as today, otherwise you aren't insured if you need to cancel and risk losing money.
