As a seasoned snowboard/ski instructor, I would say depends on what you want it for...
Indoor ski slopes - absolutely fine.
A couple of hours on the slopes for spring skiing - not too bad if you layer underneath.
A full day in minus temperatures - NO NO NO.
You get what you pay for - some sales and ebay stuff can be cheaper than Lidl/Aldi.
I would NOT send my son(s) out on a school ski trip with Aldi/Lidl gear.
North Face, Westbeach, Burton, Salomon, Columbia, Helly Hansen, Trespass if pushed!
Decathlon is good too - and they do mail order.
My wife swears by Helly Hansen for women, great fit. Try mandmdirect.
Try to make sure it has a snow skirt! Stops lots of drafts and snow getting in up and down and round!0 -
Matalan also do decent priced ski gear - but it sells out fast! There is a 20% off code on the discount board.0

Comic genius. The problem is that with all the wrong posts and the 50 million tesco ones everything else just gets lost.0

It's a grabbit because the OP has said it will be in stock next week. They could have said 'Cheap ski gear at Lidl from next week! !' or something similar and got all their advice and opinions from seasoned skiers that way.
I'm pretty sure it will be that same quality as the Aldi stuff. I don't ski but their cycling stuff is great for the money.0 -
Yes I am another for it would be fine - we had some from alid a fair few years ago for the kids and they lasted years.Sold some on ebay and still got one. And my lot, who always complain at being cold - were totally cosy. Go for it or buy from one ebay.0

Its a school trip for a 13yr year old not a bloomin hard core treck through blizzards to the north pole.0 -
Ive never tried Lidl but I got a £10 Dare2Be ski coat a couple of months ago from a place called Marshall Leisure

if you are not looking to spend too much. My ski suits have always been Dare2Be and Ive had no problems, and I should know Ive spent enough time on my backside in the snow!!0 -
My son went skiing with the school to Norway and I bought most of his gear from Lidl and Aldi. You will get a list from the school exactly what is needed? The Crane underwear is good and is still going strong and he had the goggles, socks, snow boots also.
Just remembered, the first year we hired his jacket and salopettes from the company the school got in but the next year we got his sallopettes and jacket from Sports Direct (but i think that we got them at the end of the season as they were cheap and we knew he wanted to go the next year.)Ditch 100 in January Challenge 100/100
Ditch 100 in February Challenge 114/100
Ditch 100 in March Challenge 100/100
Ditch 100 in April Challenge 75/1000 -
Goodness me thank you everybody, so much advice!! We have got a kit list form school, was just wondering about the quality of the lidl stuff. A friend has lent us goggles and sunspecs but her clothing is too big for my skinny daughter!!0
