Is it easy to fit remote central locking kit?
Our 2007 Honda Jazz has central locking, but not remote. The key won't turn in the driver's door lock, but does work in the other locks.
It would be expensive to change the lock and we were looking at the remote central locking kits that you can buy from ebay for about £20.
Are these fairly straightforward to fit?

Seems to be a big difference in price. Any idea if it is worth spending the extra?

Pretty simple if you're OK with wiring. Basically you have a receiver that sends a signal to the central locking or operates the central locking motors/solenoids directly. You will need to be OK with auto eletrics and taking door cards off.0

I reckon that after you've bought this £20 kit and after you've had a go at fitting it you may have saved money by just taking your car to an independent garage and either having them fit it for you or just look at the offending lock. It might be an easy fix.It would be expensive to change the lock and we were looking at the remote central locking kits that you can buy from ebay for about £20
Unless you know what you're doing I wouldn't attempt fitting it. If you get it wrong the best that will happen is nothing, the worst that will happen is you'll need a new loom.
I'm sorry to say, but they both look like the kind of cheap foreign stuff that wont last. I'd just look into getting the lock fixed.Rosie363 wrote:Seems to be a big difference in price.
