How easy is it to fir remote central locking?

The driver's door lock on our Honda Jazz doesn't work with the key. It would cost quite a lot to fix and we are thinking of getting a remote central locking kit and fitting it ourselves.

Is it fairly straightforward? The central locking system itself does work, it's just the actual lock barrel on the one door that the key won't turn in.

Any help please?

Much easier and cheaper to get a local independent to strip out the lock and fix it (and keep the same key). Any car though that is available with remote central locking can be retro fitted, but it really isn't worth the hassle.

You might find if you remove the barrel, then spray with WD40 you can get the barrel to work? Another cheap fix is to get a barrel and key from a scrap car. You will need to weigh the cost saving versus the inconvenient having two keys.
