Buyer Wants Refund After 45 Days

Options
They claim that the item hasn't arrived.

I sent the item, but have lost the PoP.

It has been over 2 months since the item ended.

Can they claim and will I have to refund them?

Thanks!

Why have they waited so long before contacting you about this?
My reply without knowing what the item is, would be NO

They have left it to late to claim through Ebay/Paypal and they can't leave you any feedback.
I would also block them from bidding on your auctions

Strictly speaking buyers have 45 days from date of purchase to lodge a complaint with Ebay or Paypal. Paypal afaik don't sway from this. However, in the dark distant past, there was a thread on here from a seller who had had a case opened nearly 80 days later. I had a similar incident about 18 months ago where a seller opened a case 50 odd days later (I hadn't had any previous contact). I posted on the Ebay boards and a 'pink' told me that with INR, they may consider any length of time valid in opening a claim as in theory, the item is either delivered or not. (Which does have some logic).

I think I'll give them a refund then, seeing as I don't want bad feedback for a few pennies!

    Thanks!

Your Op states two different periods...'45 days' and 'over 2 months' ...which is it as it is crucial as to whether they can leave you feedback?
  • Check out the buyer's feedback first, ie his/her comments to and from other users, and see what else he/she has been buying and selling before making any decision. I think it's fishy that they waited that long before at least making contact of any description with you...
  • I would definately not give them a refund unless they open a dispute, in which case let the dispute take it's course
