Any chance of these still kicking around Maplin stores or will they all be gone now that they are off the website?
Wouldn't mind one, the cheap electric one I picked up from Aldi is a nightmare.0 -
Some shops will have stock.
When they were in stock online you could do a stock check at your local branch, but not now that it's gone from the website.
Give your local shop a ring, mine in Plymouth had 5 when I went in this morning.0 -
If you go here you can still check stock level in store

Any idea how long they'd reserve stock for?0 -

It does test transistors, use the diode test setting!! All for £2.97.0 -
Hint. A slightly dishonest way of finding out if they have any in stock would be to tell them that you bought one and lost it/broke it, could they sell you another one.
The psychology behind this is that they are more likely to sell the 'last one' to you rather than a stranger, i found."Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0 -

Nice one...but how do you check stock levels for other items (is there a starting URL?)
Also, isn't this one better value for money (on promotion too so reduced by £21.15)....

...more bits, therefore more versatile? (eg it comes with a flame bit which will be great for torturing small indefensible animals)0 -
Just bought the multimeter...& what a fantastic little thing it is. Solidly built....the test leads alone would cost a fiver! (& the battery £2)0

Not easily but in the original URL there is the bit
ordercode=RM83E
RM83E is the code for the iron, just overtype in the item your interested in.
I reserverd one this morning and fetched it at lunch, and they said they'd hold it 2-3 days when I asked.0 -

Well, Rapid Electronics sell a multimeter for £3.05 ex VAT which comes with good test leads and a battery so it's a good deal but not amazing.0
