Have a look on at Pricerunner's consumer reviews for Pixmania.. they're horrendous. Likely to come with french manuals/french plugs and/or french guarantee. Also a lot of Canon guarantees *aren't* worldwide.

Similar experience here. Due to amazingly bad customer services, I will never use Pixmania again. By contrast Amazon's CS are faultless.

In the past Amazon used US imports of Canon cameras - same spec as UK versions, but different model number. I don't think that still applies though, but with any retailer be aware that 'grey imports' may not be covered under the standard manufacturer's warranty.

bought a canon with amazon a year ago and never had a problem. bought another one with Pixmania, it got stolen in transit and received an empty box. Pixmania idea of Customer Service and customer care goes like "so sorry for any inconvenience caused, but as the shipping company denies responsibility we cannot send you a replacement" Worst response I've seen from an internet company over a ten year period.

go with Amazon over Pixmania any time

PCworld will price match amazon/dabs/etc. Got my canon camera from there before christmas with £50 knocked off to match dabs.
