Car stuck at the garage indefinitely

  • Hammyman,

Nationwide have been bought by Halfords - February last year - you're really not up to date.

Of course the OP only said the company was nationwide - not Nationwide Autocentres - so atrixblue was jumping to conclusions.

To fix the OPs problem, they need to ask what EXACTLY the problem is with the car, WHY they haven't fixed it, and WHEN they will.

Explain the the garage that the insurance cover provided by the garage is NOT acceptable, and that the OP will be sending the garage a bill for the extra insurance cost. Get their agreement to pay in writing before leaving.

Of course if the OP feels up to it, there is nothing better than popping round and waiting in the showroom whilst heavily pregnant, and making a bit of fuss, really puts off the other customers (they think if this is how they treat someone in her condition - they are going to treat me really badly!)

My guess is they broke something else when replacing something, and that is what is taking the time to order. Common bits come very quickly.
Unless it is damaged or discontinued - ignore any discount of over 25%

Has hubby seen the car? Sounds like they fixed it and the apprentice crashed it on its "test drive".

ROFLMAO. You have NEVER EVER worked in a garage. They never open the boxes to check..

And how did you work out it was Halfords? The last time I looked, Halfords didn't do warranty work and AFAIR they shut all their workshops.

NO I HAVE NEVER EVER WORKED IN A GARAGE! BUT i have worked in a motor factors, its up the stockist to ensure the goods are not damaged!! on delivery, that was my job, amoungst delivering and counter staff (and no it wasnt halfords)to get the wrong part then get a damaged one is an excuse imho especially if its under a manufacteres warranty and order parts were from a dealer.
